1. Presenting Kalculator: the missing calculator in your life.

I am extremely happy to announce the release of our new iPhone software: Kalculator, it is a numeric spreadsheet/calculator hybrid with all the most commonly used operands for your operating pleasure. It has the ability to solve complex arithmetic equations. Check it out at our website or go directly to the iTunes App Store. We made it in the first 24 hours to place 49 in the top 100 paid apps for Colombia, and are already hearing good things about it.

  2. My Personal Cuil Review

A close friend of mine was really excited about the Cuil.com launch. Honestly I don’t remember reading about Cuil, so the launch came as a surpise to me. Awesome, if he’s excited, this must be something really cool, lets go and check it out.

So, it works — hey, it searches =P. But mhhh whats so special here? I don’t get it… apart from the index falling short… I must say (and I know I’m not only talking about myself) we are used to google. We know how google works and highlights the stuff you want. It’s not magic, but it works.

Today I go back to Cuil.com after reading a CNet article linked on Techmeme curiously named “Cuil shows us how not to launch a search engine”. So I decided to go back and to my surprise I did find something cool in Cuil when I went back:

… and those tabs are cool. Search results by category FTW. Maybe Cuil has a long way to go on indexing the web, but if they pull it off categorizing your results that way, I think the’re on to something.

  3. Put your hotmail down and slowly walk away…

I find myself using hotmail less and less, mainly two reasons. The first I switched over to macs early this year and am still having a passionate love affair with mail.app included in leopard. I’m using more than three of my gmail-based accounts (imap enabled) and it’s sweet to have all my accounts in sync.

The second reason may sound pretty dumb but hey, it did it for me. Well, windows live ajax fun stopped working with firefox 3… nobody has fixed it, there are no plans to fix it as far as I know. So Windows live hotmail and firefox 3 don’t play nice… mhhh ditch firefox or ditch hotmail… mhhhh um wait not much to think there.

Oh and btw I’ve been getting a ridiculous amount of spam to my hotmail from six months back. (Almost as much as my yahoo account). Oh god… I have too many email accounts… time to cut back.

  4. Firefox 3 and Windows Live Hotmail

Since I upgraded to firefox 3 on both my macs, the ‘full’ version of Widows Live Hotmail will not work, instead we get a plain old html mail app. Umm I’m sure mozilla did not remove javascript support from the browser, to this is a Windows Live issue. Can we have it fixed please?

Well I’ve actually been planning lately to move away from hotmail, I actually don’t know why I still use it, so if they fix it it’s ok and if they don’t I dont really care it will just push me towards dropping the service.
