Should Microsoft buy Yahoo! ?

IMHO, no. I don’t like the sound of it, I don’t like where it’s going, I don’t think it’s going to work, if they do, yahoo will eventually disappear. No I’m not a yahoo defender, I barely even use their email service. MS has been after yahoo for a couple of years now, each year they offer a tiny bit less ($50 billion in 2007, now $44.6 in 2008 ) I’m sure Microsoft just wants to grab a large slice of the internet market (they fail at this, as they fail at most things). Yahoo said no again this year and now MS is planning a hostile takeover, they’re playing their little command OR conquer game. Shit, this has fail all over it.

How will this work anyways? Yahoo’s platform is developed around open source products, will they migrate everything to .Net ? I dont think soo…

Anyways I want to know what you people think of this acquisition (if this happens), I’m open to new ideas, these are just my first thoughts.
